We are very thankful to the governance of Lee County that has made the beaches and many parks dog friendly. This is one of the main attractions for dog lovers in the Greater Fort Myers area!
Dog Beaches – All of the beaches in Lee County allow dogs as long as the dogs are under control and on a leash. Dogs must not molest the wildlife so please keep your distance from the lovely birds and wildlife that populate our beaches. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT ENTER any areas restricted for nesting (birds, turtles). We value being able to take our dogs to the beach and ask that you observe all rules and PLEASE pick up after your dogs. The Lee County Parks do not allow dogs unless they are a specified dog park. That includes the Beach Access points. So if you are taking your dog to the beach, please enter the beach through a neighborhood access point or through private property (with the property owner’s permission).
We encourage you to visit the dog owners “dream location” in the Greater Fort Myers area…the Lovers’ Key Dog Beach. It is an off leash dog park where dogs can romp on the beach and play in the shallow waters of beautiful Lovers’ Key. Click on the title below to go to the Dog Beach website: Lovers Key Dog Beach
