The Greater Fort Myers Dog Club is comprised of a really great group of people who are dedicated to loving dogs and enjoying others who love dogs. If you are a dog lover who lives or vacations anywhere near the Fort Myers area, we would very much enjoy meeting you.
We are proud to be the Fort Myers area all-breed kennel club sanctioned and licensed by the American Kennel Club (AKC). Our club has been active in the Fort Myers area for over 53 years!
Prior to 1971, we were called The Southwest Florida Dog Club. In May of 1971, our name was officially changed with the State of Florida to The Greater Fort Myers Dog Club.
Our members are owners of and involved with dogs in Fort Myers and the surrounding areas, including the cities of Cape Coral, Lehigh, North Fort Myers, Sanibel, Estero, Captiva, Port Charlotte, Labelle, Pine Island, Punta Gorda and Fort Myers Beach.
Our Mission Statement
- The mission of the Greater Fort Myers Dog Club is to further perpetuate all purebred dogs.
- To promote and educate the public of the benefits of responsible dog ownership.
- To protect, encourage, and support sportsman like conduct at all club endeavors.
- To conduct sanctioned events under the rules and regulations of the American Kennel Club.
- To do any and all necessary community actions to support and promote the well-being of all dogs.
