Dog Friendly Beaches & Parks

We are very thankful to the governance of Lee County for making the beaches and many parks dog friendly. This is one of the main attractions the Greater Fort Myers offers for dog lovers.

All of the beaches in Lee County allow dogs, as long as they are under control and on a leash. Dogs must not molest the wildlife, so please keep your distance from the lovely birds and wildlife that populate our beaches.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT ENTER any areas restricted for nesting (birds, turtles, etc). We value being able to take our dogs to the beach and ask that you observe all rules and PLEASE pick up after your dogs.

It is important that you observe which beach access points allow dogs. You need to enter through a neighborhood access point or through private property (with the property owner’s permission).

We encourage you to visit the dog owner’s “Dream Location” in the Greater Fort Myers area … the Lovers’ Key Dog Beach. It is an off leash dog park where dogs can romp on the beach and play in the shallow waters of beautiful Lovers’ Key.
